Partnering Academy

Overview

The aim of the develop uk Business Partnering Academy is to develop the skills of professionals working in Corporate Support and Professional Services to effectively ‘Partner the Business’. The core development activities are based around the develop uk business partnering competencies of ‘Relationship Manager’, ‘Shaper’, ‘Leader’, ‘Consultant’ and ‘Expert’. Underpinning these competencies are the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to build productive business relationships, contribute to strategic development and delivery and add value to the business.
These solutions can be accessed individually, or can be packaged as a programme or ‘Partnering Academy’ to support the development of corporate support professionals in the organisation. We also create bespoke workshops to meet the development needs for all roles within corporate support and professional services.

Other Elements to the Academy

Whilst workshops form the core of most Academy approaches, there are other options and elements which can be incorporated:

  • Workbooks and Self-Managed Learning – We have workbooks on most of the key business partnering skills which can be used as pre-work or stand alone development
  • Action Learning – Many of our formal workshop programmes have been supported by action learning sets, where small groups of business partners are facilitated to explore real challenges, commit to action and are held accountable by the group to implement their learning practically with the business
  • Individual Coaching – For some individuals their development is ideally supported by coaching sessions, which can be arranged either face-to-face or over the telephone
  • Master Classes – we also deliver ‘Master Classes’ as part of several Academy programmes where we focus on a specific aspect of business partnering and bring in external speakers and experts. These can work well with larger groups.
  • Networking, Secondments, Mentoring – We have an extensive track record of supporting networking and making other external connections for business partners
