TOOLS
We have a range of bespoke Finance Business
Partnering tools designed to support organisations and individuals
successfully implement Finance Business Partnering and develop in
the role of the Finance Business Partner.
If you in interested in any of the tools described below email Judith.strange@develop.uk.com
.
1. How are We Doing?/Readiness for
Finance Business Partnering
This tool is about the finance function and current ‘readiness’
for Finance Business Partnering. It can either be used as a questionnaire
or a ‘card sort’ in a group. For each of the questions
you decide is the answer yes, no or partly and then you can map
your function’s progress towards business partnering and the
next steps on the journey.
2. Mapping Your Current Role
This simple tool, maps reviews current activity of Finance Professionals,
against key activities within a Business Partnering approach. The
personal profile you create shows to what extent you currently operate
as a Strategic Business Partner, Consultant, Specialist/Expert and
Provider of Transactional Support. By mapping current activity and
roles, it allows individuals to take a step back and think what
they will need to do, more of and less of, going forward. It can
also be used to help develop job descriptions by recognising the
overlaps and differences.
3. Finance Business Partner Competencies
As part of our extensive experience and research in working with
and developing Business Partners we have developed a suite of competencies
which include those for a Finance Business Partner. Under the headings
of Relationship Manager, Shaper, Leader, Consultant and Expert,
the competencies are helpful for identifying development needs and
ensuring the expectations of the role, skills and behaviours are
clear and understood. Our development programmes and Finance Academy
solutions, directly link to supporting the Finance Business Partner
competencies.
